Topaz the Lürssen Gem

Topaz is indeed the Lürssen gem.

Topaz was technically launched mid May 2012 when she emerged from her floating shed at the Lürssen yard and conducted sea trials in August.

The 147 metres (482 ft) long ship has a beam of 21.50 m (70.5 ft) and has a gross tonnage of 11,589. The vessel features a steel displacement hull, an aluminium superstructure and consists of eight decks This yacht was originally being built in a 169 m (554 ft) dry dock but to complete the project, the yacht had to be taken to a 220 m (720 ft) dock to be built alongside The Topaz is also the world’s sixth largest luxury yacht launched in 2012.

 

Very little is known about the motor yacht although she is the third largest yacht to be launched by the German yard and also belongs to a member of the UAE elite, although she flies a Cayman flag. Her exterior design is by Tim Heywood, who uniquely has his signature illuminated on her superstructure. The impressive vessel is equipped with anchor Stabilizers, Jacuzzi (on deck), Lift, Helicopter Landing Pad, Swimming Pool, Tender Garage, Swimming Platform, Air Conditioning, Underwater Lights. Also on board there is fitness hall, cinema and large conference room.
